Breaking the Wall

The action of the Dealer at the beginning of a game where the Dealer rolls the dice to determine which section of the Dealer’s served wall is used first in the dealing (selecting) of tiles and which section of the Dealer’s wall is used as the last set of wall tiles.

Starting from the right end of the Dealer’s served wall, the Dealer counts to the left the number of tiles on the top row equal to the total number shown on the rolled dice.

Where the Dealer stops counting, a small break in the wall is created separating the wall of tiles into two sections.

The number of top tiles to the right of the break should equal the number shown on the two dice and this section of the wall will be used as the last set of wall tiles in the game.

The section of tiles to the left of the break will be used first in the dealing (selecting) of tiles.
